Which Way are You Moving?

Each one of us is in constant motion. Time continues to tick whether we like it or not.

There may be some areas of your life that are going well, and a lot of it has to do with the positive choices you are making in those areas. Think about the areas where you have made healthy choices in your life. Maybe it’s your relationships, friendships, career, finances, or health.

Oftentimes, what we tend to do is to concentrate on things that we’re not doing well. We focus our energy on what’s lacking in our lives and what we’re not doing right. This usually makes us feel hopeless, stressed, and sometimes we feel like a failure in those areas.

Instead, this week take time to consider the areas that are going well and continue to strengthen those areas.

Remember, we are never standing still. We are always moving.

The question becomes:

  • What direction are you moving in different areas of your life?
  • What is moving in the direction that you are happy about?
  • What have you dedicated to putting your attention toward and it’s paying off?
  • What areas are thriving in your life right now?

When we continue to put attention on the areas that are going well in in our lives such as our career, relationships, and health, we feel empowered, in control, and capable.

I challenge you this week to write down what’s working for you right now and what you’re doing that’s making it work so well for you. Write down the big, and don’t forget the small things, and be proud of yourself for how well you’re doing in each area. Then, instead of coasting and being comfortable with how you’re doing, commit to strengthening those aspects of your life.

Remind yourself that we are never treading water; rather we are always moving in a direction. Which direction are you moving in each aspect of your life – toward or away from your dreams?
