There’s No Time to Wait
This past Wednesday, America experienced another horrifying tragedy. A mass shooting broke out in San Bernardino, CA, which is less than 50 miles from where I reside.
The terrible truth is that this is the world in which we live. None of us are exempt from saying “See you tonight!” to those we love before we leave home, walk out the front door, and not return… Ever.
Any one of us can be in the wrong place at the wrong time. It doesn’t matter how young or old, rich or poor, or able or disabled you are. Every future moment is a mystery.
Our life is so fragile. So much is unpredictable and out of our control. At any moment, something could happen to you that turns your world upside down and inside out.
Here’s how I see it. There’s no time to wait. But, it’s not just the mass shootings or the other random things that can happen at any moment. There’s more to this “no time to wait” that I hope you understand.
There are millions of women who don’t have the freedoms we have here in America. They are told what to do, who to be, what to wear, and how to act. What’s more, many of these women’s lives will be cut short – some before they hit 50.
Unlike these women, you, on the other hand, are so fortunate. You have the freedom to take charge of your life and the opportunity to create the health and well-being that these women can only fantasize about.
Waiting for the perfect time to take action is an illusion. The perfect time is like a mirage. You can keep chasing it all you like, but the reality is that it doesn’t exist.
So, what are you waiting for?
Afraid to fail, even stumble? So what if you do. Learn the lesson, get back up, dust yourself off and try again. What a blessing to have the freedom and opportunity to even try in the first place.
I urge you to not put your health into neutral and cruise into January. Instead, live and act with a sense of urgency. Stop waiting for the perfect time. Realize that you aren’t guaranteed anything, not even the next breath you take. There’s no more time to wait. It’s time to get into action.

Great advice and inspiration Kim! We should not wait one minute to take care of ourselves. The time is now to find adventure in our lives and take control of our health. By starting right now in the month of December we can help prepare our bodies for the stress that may come our way.
I like that, Suzanne, “The time is now to find adventure in our lives and take control of our health” – YES! Thanks for reading!
Love this, Kim! We so often take for granted that we have tomorrow, next week, next year. There is no perfect time, and I’m convinced that one will never REALLY feel READY, the small steps just have to be taken!
Thanks, Carrie! It’s true, small steps in the right direction feel less daunting, especially this time of year. The key is to be moving in a healthy direction. It’s a choice and so is not doing anything.
