What 5 Women Do You Most Admire?
Eleanor Roosevelt, Susan B. Anthony, Helen Keller, Rosa Parks, Oprah, Ellen DeGeneres, Malala Yousafai…
Your grandmother, your mother, your friend from work, your neighbor across the street, your sister, the lady you frequently see at the coffee shop, the 85 year old fit woman at the gym…
As you travel through life learning more about who you are, what you want, and where you’re going, there’s no better time than NOW to think about the many remarkable women, past or present, young or old, famous or not, that can serve as a model for you.
I’ve posed five questions for you to think (better yet, journal) about that can help you actively begin to move toward the woman you want to be by knowing WHO you admire, WHY you admire them, and HOW you can start to cultivate the qualities that these women possess into your own life.
Don’t rush through these questions; rather GIFT yourself some “ME” time today or this week to work on YOU by going through this exercise. You’re worth it. You deserve it.
Are you ready to learn more about YOU and take another step closer toward the woman you want to be? If so, let’s get started!
- What five women, past or present, do you most admire?
- What about them do you admire?
- Do you see any patterns?
- What actionable qualities do these women possess that you would like to model? (Be specific. Maybe they’re courageous, resilient, disciplined, hopeful, or seem to be happy and content.)
- How can you start cultivating those patterns in your own life?
I’d love to hear some of the women you admire! Comment below and tell me about them!
Wishing you joyful health in your 50’s,
Kim
I have a hard time coming up with my top 5 this or my favorite that. I admire women who do their best, who inspire others to be their best version of themselves, even in hard times and during difficult situations.
I love that, Heidi! So, without even choosing your Top 5, it sounds like these women have authenticity, resilience, hope, and grit, as some of their qualities. These sound like some words I’d use to describe YOU, Heidi! 😉
Thank you for the kind words. I read a blog post a few months ago about how to figure out who you are and what your passion in life is and the woman recommended having someone give you their perspective on how they see you. I love being seen in these ways by you!
Absolutely, Heidi. I think it would be safe to say that the women who follow your blog, The Magic of Mothering, would say that you are one of their Top 5 women they admire!
